my buddy was raving about the 360 the other day and told me the specs and all and was fanatic.

Im like... so its like a high end computer thats going to come out 6 months from now, which actually will make it a mid grade computer by the time it releases...

Yup. That's usually how it goes...... I remember that being the case going all the way back to the Playstation and N64. People get all jazzed up about it, then when the system finally comes out, it's yesterdays technology.

Now, the PS3, with it's Cell Processor, is an exception. However, the Cell processor is great for game developers, but as far as a desktop computer? Not really...... mainly because of how the cell processor works. You have to write the software that uses the processor to run the game, something that game developers do all the time, but not something that software developers writing apps for an OS have done since the 1970s. That's a very basic, dumbed down version of it. So while it's fantastic for game systems, it may be awhile before the cell processors are used in a desktop enviroment.
