i remember back to the days of the Atari (Atari ST computer, not the Atari console) and the games I used to play on it.

It wasn't uncommon for me to play a game every day for a month and still not beat it. Seems some of those games actually had no end. I remember a game (which I have NO clue to what the name of it was) that I probably played well over 500 hours in. And never beat it.

Sort of reminds me of FF7. My brother played that game for MANY hours. Those sort of games I don't mind shelling money out for. But the games that you spend $60 for and play for 4 hours and beat. No way. I probably spent $30 for Civ 1 when it first came out and I got every penny worth. Civ 2 was about the same probably and I got my moneys worth, although didn't play it half as much as Civ 1. And Civ 3 with all the expansion packs at full price is still probably worth the money considering how much I played.

I don't even remember how long I played before I quit..
The shortest game I ever played was Red Faction. Good game, but waaaaay too short! The longest had to be the first Unreal. Man.. I never did finish that one, it got too tedious after awhile. Again, good game, but too long.

Longest game I ever played was Xenogears. I think I clocked in 60+ hours of gameplay before I even got around to building up my characters and those 60 hours don't even count the times I died and had to start over from the last check point.
