If you haven't seen it before, Prosper.com is a great place for obtaining loans or lending. It works sort of like an eBay of loans.

You post your loan need and max interest rate you will pay. Then people bid on the interest rate and amount they are willing to loan. Others can come along and offer to loan for lower interest (the bidding aspect). Your loan gets funded by 1 or more people at a competitive interest rate. You can often secure a loan through Prosper when you cannot get loans through traditional funding. Loans range from $1,000 - $25,000.

If you prefer to lend, you can lend as little as $50 at a time and you set the credit grade and interest rates you are willing to accept. You can bid individually on loans you like or setup a standing order to have the system auto-bid loans that match redefined criteria. You then sit back and collect the payments and interest each month to your bank account.

Finally, there is a social aspect of Propers.com. You can join groups of like minded individuals to loan and borrow.

It's completely free to join and look around. Be sure that after you join you become part of a group. I personally manage the Webmaster and Blogger Lending Network and would of course like to recommend that group. There are benefits to being a member of a group (lower interest rates, even after group leader rewards are taken out and better chances of getting your loan funded).
